introduction
My work – our work, if you decide to give it a try – is based on trust. I understand that before we even start talking, you have questions or concerns. If there is anything I didn’t cover, drop me a message via the contact form (it can be anonymous if you prefer) and I will get back to you or include your question in this list. Pick a topic or just scroll and see all the questions.
these days everything is on social media.
I am quite famous.
this is a small world, I think we have common friends / we met already
I really want it to keep it secret from my colleagues / my agent / my fans / entire world
There is literally no situation in which I would share your identity, your problems or your situation on social media or anywhere else. I don’t care if we have fifty common friends or if you’re a superstar, I would never sacrifice your trust or my professional integrity for followers or gossip. I won’t even say hello to you if I bump into you backstage, if that’s what you prefer. Privacy is important to me. No one will know – unless you tell them.
how much does it cost?
Short answer: One hour long video-call with me is €65. A short 30 minutes consultation/chemistry check is free of charge without any obligations.
Long answer: it depends. Sometimes life is tough and there is a longer break between contracts if you’re a freelancer. Some countries pay better than others. Sometimes we will need three hours nonstop to build mutual trust before we get to the core of your anxiety. I’d love to see you face-to-face too. I’m happy to come to your show and chat afterwards. Message me and we’ll figure it out.
what language do you speak?
I speak English, Italian, Polish and Hungarian – I do accept clients in all of those languages. I do also speak some conversational French as well as bits and pieces of other European languages, so if you can’t find a word in English but you can say it in Slovak or Portuguese, chances are we’ll understand each other.
what methods do you use?
Short answer: I use integrative approach, which means I include techniques and methods from many different therapeutic schools depending on what your needs are.
Long answer: Not unsurprisingly, performance psychology will be our primary toolset since we are working on performance anxiety. This means elements of mental training, arousal regulation techniques, as well as techniques rooted in cognitive behavioral psychology in order to correct harmful self-talk or enhance focus. I am also trained in neuroscience, so if it’s your thing, I’ll be happy to explain the neurobiology behind what’s happening. As per my general mindset and philosophy, it is probably closest to dialectical behavioural therapy (note: I am not a therapist and I do not claim to be. This is just something I’m passionate about and actively broadening my toolset with different approaches). Dialectical behavioural therapy (or DBT for short) is basically finding a perfect balance between acceptance and change, which is often the key in a delicate situations the performing artists find themselves in.
how long will it take?
Short answer: I usually start with a short process of 6 encounters with a specified goal we will work towards, and many times, it’s enough. Unless…
Long answer: Sometimes all you need is one conversation. Sometimes you need a year. Sometimes we will fix your original issue in 6 weeks with a weekly call, but we will find another 3 that could be fixed. I will tell you openly what I think, but I won’t push you into anything.
will you give me any vocal/musical advice?
If you’re a singer and you feel you could use some vocal coaching together with mental support, good news! I have a wonderful friend who does both and we often work together.
Normally, I won’t be giving you any musical advice because it’s not my job. That said, if you ask for my honest feedback or my opinion on something you’re doing, I will gladly give it to you. I won’t give you my opinions on your colleagues.
will you come to my show?
Sure, if I’m around, I’d love to! Unless we agree I shouldn’t, then I won’t.
